EuroScout 2010 |
From 14th to 16th May, 2010 the Scouting world will again be invited to make the journey to Chelmsford in Essex, this time to participate in the EuroScout Stamp Exhibition. For many years Chelmsford was known to the world as the birthplace of radio, having been home to Marconi and his experiments, culminating in the establishment of the first radio factory in the world. However 2007 changed this view because the town was host to the 21st, Centenary, World Scout Jamboree. The Scout and Guide Stamps Club look forward to welcoming you all to this bi-annual event. Chelmsford is the County Town of Essex and is easily accessible to Harwich and London, by Rail and to Stanstead Airport by a regular bus service. There are a number of hotels within the town itself and several others on the outskirts which means that there will be plenty of choice from the reasonably priced "Lodge" type up to three and four stars - with even one five star if you want it. The event will be held in the town's prestigious Shire Hall with the preliminary programme allowing for setting up on 13th May, with the Exhibition open 14th - 16th. |
